The Pekepo-Ratu wh膩nau of eight live in 艑t膩ne, Hawke's Bay and embrace all things t膩karo M膩ori. In this video they share stories about the important role of kaum膩tua (grandparents) in enabling play, te reo M膩ori and k艒rero tuku iho (stories of the past) to flourish across generations. We see examples of how this wh膩nau make conscious decisions to centre their activities around taiao (environmental) experiences for their tamariki. We also learn practical tips on how to connect and engage tamariki through playful experiences that connect back to their whakapapa (geneology).鈥 鈥
